Die-Thanes - High Performance Elastomers
For demanding Press Brake tooling, specifying a compound by durometer is not appropriate. It should be based on the amount of deflection. For this reason, our compounds are designed by the Maximum allowable deflection.

This photo illustrates the CUSTOM BUILT SMART PAD SYSTEM with gauges and machined steel punch to form 180° bend in 3 hits, to form a polished, perforated stainless steel muffler guard. Custom Tooling in Urethane & Steel Punches is our specialty.
With our unique facility, we can design & make custom steel punches up to 30Ft. in length, and try them on a 400 ton press brake to make sure that the punches perform with the right spring-back.

Designed to bend any radius from 1" (25mm) to 4" (100mm), 90°in one hit or bump form any radiused shape.

PODs are square or Rectanglular shaped Pads, with a Flat top. Designed for bending sharp or radiused V-bends. A molded hole through the full length of the pad provide for stress relief and require lower tonnage. PODs are designed to fit in standard ASTM Steel C-Channels, to function as holders or Retainers.
PUDs are square or Rectanglular shaped Pads with a molded U-Shaped top surface to enable 180 degrees U-Bends in one hit. PUDs are designed to fit in standard ASTM Steel C-Channels, to function as holders or Retainers.

We are the only company in the world that can produce both steel and urethane tooling at the same location. In applications requiring a combination of steel & urethane tooling, we can design and manufacture the tooling better than anybody in the world. We have more than 35 years experience in this field.
